Our work is independent, uncompromised, and urgently needed. We are the only organisation in Ukraine openly confronting Russia’s hybrid war and its weaponisation of culture to divide the country from within. Our debates, fellowships, residencies, and civic initiatives build the civic resilience Ukraine needs to withstand radicalisation — an existential threat in wartime.
We take no money from state actors or political parties. Our independence relies entirely on people who choose to support it. Every penny goes to the programmes and the people who need them.
Members of the Ukrainian Cosmopolis — distinguished writers, scholars, and artists from around the world — oversee and share responsibility for the transparent and principled use of all funds.
Since 2022 we have collected and continue to collect funds for the non-lethal needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, without whom none of our work would be possible.

Fund a Programme or Become a Patron
Some supporters choose to underwrite specific Cosmopolis programmes: public debates, Odessa residencies and fellowships, youth workshops, or our “Odessa to the World” initiative. These partnerships make transformational work possible and allow us to sustain independent cultural life under wartime conditions.
