Our work would not be possible without our donors. Your generosity enables us to make a major contribution to a plural and democratic Ukraine, and to support those who have the courage to stand up to forces of radicalisation. It will also help to develop Odessa as a truly free and cosmopolitan hub of cultural and intellectual exchange.
We are accepting donations to support our current December Debates, Odessa Residencies, and the "Odessa to the World" programmes.
We are also launching a "Civic Courage" programme to support Ukrainian cultural figures and intellectuals who continue to think freely and speak truthfully in an increasingly radicalised environment. These are the people who refuse to surrender their voice: those who write in inconvenient languages, defend pluralism, or express views that may be unpopular but are essential for an honest, democratic public sphere. Civic and intellectual courage are hard to come by at the best of times — and in wartime they become especially scarce, and all the more precious.
Should you wish to support this programme, $2,000 will fully fund a month-long Civic Courage Residency, and $6,000 will support a six-month Civic Courage Fellowship.
We welcome ideas from potential donors for programmes aimed at developing Odessa's cultural life, supporting pluralism and resisting radicalism in Ukraine.
